Regent Brass are a 28 piece Brass Band based in Wembley, North West London. Founded in 1985 to cater for young brass players in Brent that had left the youth set-up, Regent Brass has since risen to the top of the brass band scene.

Church of the Ascension – Concert Review

On Friday 16th March, the band hosted a concert on their “home turf” at the Church of the Ascension in Wembley. Despite regularly rehearsing at the church, this was the first concert the band had performed there for many years and it was particularly encouraging to perform to a very receptive audience, the majority of whom were hearing a brass band for the first time. Joint Concert with Enfield Town Band

The band was delighted to perform with the Enfield Town Band on 25th Feburary for the first time in a lively and varied concert at St Aldenham’s Church in Edmonton. The event was made all the more demanding for Regent solo cornet player Steve Gaskell as, in addition to playing with the band, he is also the long standing principal cornet player with Enfield! DFDS Seaways Contest 2012

On 11th Feburary, the band travelled to Dover to participate in the inaugural DFDS Seaways Open Brass Band Contest. The original set-up for the contest involved each band having to perform a hymn tune, solo feature and an additional work to a panel of three esteemed judges who each are respected examiners for the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music – Graham Harvey, Kenneth Peers and John Harper. 2012 Begins…

2012 begins with usual preparation for the L&SC Area Contest.  This years test piece is Derek Bourgeois “Devil and the Deep Blue Sea”, quite a challenge. 2 weeks back, 2 full rehearsals, some new faces, some old faces, all enthusiastic getting back into the swing of things.
