The band was delighted to perform with the Enfield Town Band on 25th Feburary for the first time in a lively and varied concert at St Aldenham’s Church in Edmonton. The event was made all the more demanding for Regent solo cornet player Steve Gaskell as, in addition to playing with the band, he is also the long standing principal cornet player with Enfield!

Enfield performed in the first half, guest conducted by Regent conductor Alan Duguid, treated the audience to a exciting mix of traditional brass band music and arrangements of more popular works, including a great performance of “Fiesta Mexicana” featuring Steve showcasing his Latin talents!

Regent then took the stage in an action-packed second half, which included a reprise of Tetsuro Okamura’s bravura “Bluebells of Scotland” and “The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea” which the band will perform at the area championships in March.

The band would like to extend their thanks to Enfield Town Band for making this concert such a success, and also to Helen Quinlan, who kindly stepped in to cover the Flugel Horn seat on the day.
