On 29th October, Regent Brass took part in their annual joint concert with the Mole Valley Silver Band in Dorking Halls, Leatherhead, as part of the “Arts Alive” festival. This event has become a regular fixture in the bands’ calendar for many years and once again it was a great success with a very receptive audience and was wonderfully compered by Ian Skelly, “the voice of BBC Radio 3”.

On this occasion, the band performed a range of pieces including the Euphonium solo “Aka Tombo” performed by John Gafney, the Flugel solo “Children of Sanchez” performed by Vickie Curran and also the epic work “Year of the Dragon” by Philip Sparke, which was very well received by the audience. As usual, the final segment of the concert featured the combined forces of both Mole Valley Silver Band and Regent Brass as they rounded the event off.

The band would like to thank Mole Valley Silver Band for once again organising such a great event and for inviting us to perform with them once again. Also, we would like to thank the guests who performed with us at the event.
