Promotion… on the double!

Happy New Year from all of us at Regent! 2019 sees a remarkable double promotion for our bands. Just two short years after relegation, Regent Brass is delighted to once again be at London’s ‘top table of banding’ as we take our place in the London & Southern Counties Championship section. 2 Towns, 3 performances, 4 standing ovations, 2,500 miles… Regent Brass were happy to accept the invitation by the Summer Trumpet Academy in Kolbuszowa, Poland for the 2nd year to visit and perform. With 2 dedicated members of the bass team (well, 1 bass and one bass trombone – same thing, right?) on a mission over land with a van full of instruments and a plane of brass musicians, Regent Brass departed the United Kingdom and made haste to Poland.…

Regent Community Brass and Regent Brass return to marvellous surroundings of Queens Park to present a series of Brass in the Park concerts on Sunday afternoons. The bands will play from 3pm to 5pm in the bandstand to the north of the park. With a wide variety of music written and arranged for Brass Band, programmes will comprised of classics, marches, show tunes, film themes and much more. Bring along a picnic and enjoy the atmosphere! After much preparation from both Regent Brass and Regent Community Brass, both bands have been selected to represent London & Southern Counties at the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain! Following the Regional contest, held in Stevenage on Sunday March 19th, Regent Brass placed 2nd in ‘Section 1’ whilst Regent Community Brass took the coveted 1st place in ‘Section 4’! Both bands will perform in their respective section finals at The Centaur, Cheltenham on the weekend of September 16-17 2017.…
